Nissan Serena Burned in Cawang Toll

A minibus type of Nissan Serena with police number B 1463 UOE, burned at KM 02 Jalan Tol Dalam Cawang, East Jakarta, Sunday (6/1) around 05.30 AM. Initial estimated, the fire caused by engine electrical short circuit.

The unlucky car was driven by Aldo (35) from Pancoran towards Cawang. However, upon arrival at Cawang toll, the car suddenly sparked and then enlarged. Aldo, who drove alone, was panic and he stopped the car and got out to save himself.

In an instant, the fire burned almost the entire car's body. In fact, it caused an explosion sound, which was thought to have come from the fuel tank. The fire was extinguished about half an hour later after two fire trucks were deployed to the scene.

"It was around 05.30 AM. The fire allegedly caused by electrical short circuit since before the incident, the car was bumped by a truck," told AKP Joko, PJR Metro City Police officers.

"The interim report, there are sparks from the car, then it burned the car," he said again.

As a result of this incident, the traffic on Jalan Tol Dalam Kota, in Pancoran segment towards Cawang, had congestion up to 5 kilometers. The congestion was over after the wrecked car was evacuated by Jasamarga officers.
